The Goals We Seek (Evangelism)

"Pulling Down Strong Holds and Building Up Relationships" (2 Co. 10:3-8)

The church's main function is to win men to Christ; therefore, evangelism has top priority. Simply put, evangelism is getting the message out to every creature; it is seeking to show men that Jesus Christ is the only hope, and to persuade men to surrender to him as Lord and Savior. There are many methods of doing this, but we seek the following:

1. Home Visitation

We dream of having people who are trained, and will give several hours each week to go from door-to-door and talk to people about Jesus Christ.

2. Literature

Literature is another means of communication by which to spread the Gospel. We hope to have sound Gospel literature and tracts, and to place them in every public place possible.

3. Radio Broadcast

Especially for the benefit of those who are sick and shut-in, we need a radio broadcast. We would like to call it "How Shall We Then Live?", and follow a doctrinal format and could tape the program. Perhaps, 15 minutes, three days a week program would be preferable to one Sunday , where there are lots of religious programs.

4. Open Air Meetings

During the summer months when people are out a great deal, we could hold an evangelistic service, or during busy times in town we could distribute tracks on the street corners.

5. Home Bible Classes

Many people will not come to church but would attend an informal Bible discussion at home.

6. Newspaper Articles

The daily newspaper is one thing that goes into thousands of homes each day. This will not be just a statement of the times of service, but articles on the Word of God and how practical it is in our everyday life.
